BIOGRAPHY:
Introduced to yoga as a child in 1969, Jennifer has been a steady practitioner since 1989. She has trained within the Iyengar (under Kofi Busia), Ashtanga, Bhakti Vinyasa, Baptiste, Vinyasa Krama, Prajna Yoga, and Vajrayana lineages, as well as being certified as a Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapy.
She founded the Joy of Yoga School of Integrative Learning (200 & 500hr) in 2006, Breathe Together Yoga in Los Gatos in 2011 and the JOY MAP (meditation and awareness program) in 2020. Jennifer is also the president of the Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation.
Since 2004, Jennifer has traveled all over the world leading yoga trainings, adventures and retreats. Jennifer is the author of River of Offerings (Insight Editions under Simon & Schuster) a photography book on twelve journeys up and down the Ganges River.
She brings eight years as an Associate Professor of storytelling, storyboarding, mythology and creativity, ten years as a professional artist, and a Master’s Degree in Art and Consciousness to her teaching. Passionate about “life education,” she enjoys making the world’s wisdom traditions accessible and embodied, such that students are empowered to live each day in a creative and meaningful way.
You can find Jennifer’s classes through Breathe Together Yoga, YogaAnytime.com and YouTube. She regularly shares what she’s learning from her practice on Instagram (jennprugh). The practice of yoga is at the heart of everything she loves.
Jennifer lives with her husband Will, her son, Liam (when he’s home from college) and two golden retrievers, Hobbes and River.
