This is a short class of introductory Äsana, suitable for beginners and anyone who wants to be reminded of the important basic principles of Iyengar yogÄsana practice, while actively engaged in a range of different types of Äsana (including plenty of standing poses).
Most of these Äsanas can be done straightforwardly, as presented in Light on Yoga, with little or no extra equipment. The design of these wonderful Äsanas is such that they lead our mental understanding and our bodies in the right direction (as long as we don’t interfere with that evolving process).
This session should be delightfully refreshing and re-enthusing for Iyengar yoga ‘old hands’.
This session is suitable for anyone with a fair level of health and fitness (no serious health conditions or injuries—consider joining the ‘with props and support’ session instead if you have such restrictions), even those who are out of shape or completely new to yoga.
