Yoga encourages us to develop an awareness of self, and asana assists us in developing our physical awareness. Isometric contraction, using a muscle in stillness, can create clarity about our yoga poses, and how we use our muscles within them.
In this class, Erin will guide an open-level sequence of familiar asana with detailed, specific cues to access the small pieces of bigger poses. Your hip flexors become important to cobra, your adductors will hold your plank, child's pose highlights your latissimus and dog pose is supported by your pecs.
With a focus on developing proprioceptive awareness, To Feel and To Find will be an intriguing class for yogis who enjoy the details of asana as a means of broader awareness.
Please have a yoga mat, some wall space (or a heavy peice of furniture like a sofa) and your typical yoga props. Let Erin know before class if you are modifying for injury, or if you need suggestions for modifications.
