Seva: a path to opening the heart

Type:

[D] Off The Mat / Giving Back to the World

Level:

All Levels

Length:

1.0 hour(s)

Description:

In our busy world, the ways of the heart are often upstaged by the more outspoken thoughts of the mind. Most spiritual traditions encourage the practice of seva, selfless service, as a way to express the idea of oneness in the world. We quickly learn that the act of serving others, benefits us the most by expanding our own Heart. We are encouraged ”To do the deed for the sake of doing, not looking for the reward.“.

In this session we will return to the Yoga Sutras to explore a few of the many ways that seva harmonizes with your own spiritual path, bringing balance through both inward and outward practices.

Notes:

Please bring an open heart and mind, a notebook, and a comfortable place to sit for practice.
